Delhi: Missing trader's family accuses cops of inaction
New Delhi: The family members of a 37-year-old businessman who went missing on August 30 from South Delhi’s Fatehpur Beri have alleged police inaction in the case.
The kin of the missing businessman Ravinder Sharma stated that he was abducted by one of his rivals but the cops were reluctant to interrogate any suspect.
Sharma, a resident of Asola Village had been running a business of water supply in South Delhi, said sources. He had left his house on August 30 at around 7 pm but did return after that. The family got worried and tried to contact him but found his phone switched off.
Shyam Sunder Sharma, the victim’s brother said that after a lot of searching, they decided to approach the police. “In Asola village we checked the CCTV footage of one of the residents and were shocked to see that Ravinder was heading towards the water treatment plant of his competitor Ravinder Amit Gupta. But he did not come out of the plant. We spoke to Amit Gupta, but he tried to mislead us. We have doubt that Amit has abducted him. We have named him in the FIR,” he said. Also, he stated that he had narrated the entire episode to the cops but they did not pay any attention. On the other hand, a police official said, “We can not speak on the matter as it can hamper the investigation.”
