Woman, 45, gets robbed in front of city hospital
New Delhi: A woman was robbed in front of LNJP Hospital on Friday. The accused came in an auto rickshaw, duped her of her jewellery and cash, gave her a bundle of paper and fled from the spot. The incident happened in broad daylight. The victim alleged that she was hypnotised by the accused.
On Friday morning, the 45-year-old woman resident of Shakarpur was at LNJP Hospital as her daughter was admitted there and was recieving treatment. After seeing her, she came out of the Hospital and was waiting at the bus stop.
Then, two youth in an auto rickshaw came near her, cajoled her and then took her in the vehicle. The woman alleged that the youth hypnotised her, then duped her of her gold earings and Rs 4000 in cash and later gave her a bundle of paper which she assumed to be a bundle of cash.
According to the police, the woman had alleged that she was transfixed but in most of these cases victims are duped as they are lured into getting something for a higher price in return. Greed is the main reason for most of these cases. The woman might have thought that the bundle she recieved was cash but it was only paper. Many cases have happened in recently where the same modus operandi was used.
The robbers decieved the victims by gaining their confidence and luring them with fake bundle of cash. They exchange the bundle with the jewellery or other articles and later flee from the spot, said the police.
