Assembly poll is BJP's next target

Tiwari said that the BJP government will develop Delhi as a world class city with 60 seats and serve the people.

NEW DELHI: After the overwhelming victory in the Lok Sabha polls, the Delhi BJP has decided to keep the momentum going till the Assembly election next year. It is set to launch “Mission 60” to win 60 seats out of 70 Assembly seats in the city.

Delhi BJP president Manoj Tiwari told this newspaper that the party will hit the ground in a couple of days and set a target of winning 60 seats for itself.

“We have been in exile in the Assembly for 22 years but now people have made up their mind that BJP should also be in power in Delhi. Our slogan is ‘Desh me Modi, Delhi me BJP tabhi banegi baat, Delhi chale Modi ke sath’. I am confident that Delhiites will vote for us in 2020 and defeat Nakaampanthi (follower of failures), who spread lies and created the illusion to cheat them,” said Mr Tiwari.

When asked why BJP will not try to break AAP’s record of winning 67 seats, Mr Tiwari said that the BJP government will develop Delhi as a world class city with 60 seats and serve the people. “Despite winning 67 seats, Arvind Kejriwal has betrayed people. BJP’s 60 MLAs will serve Delhi better than Mr Kejriwal’s 67 MLAs,” Mr Tiwari added.

A special campaign “rath” (vehicle) has been made which is ready to hit the roads. Sources in the party said that Mr Tiwari will start traveling across the city in the specially designed rath to reach out to the electorate and tell them about failures of AAP government.
