New Delhi: The Delhi police has arrested a juvenile along with his friend on Saturday for gangraping a woman at Shabad Dairy on early Thursday. The police said that the third accused, a serial offender, is on the run. He was previously arrested on rape charges.
The 14-year-old minor along with friends, Sandeep and Jitendra, on early Thursday had gangraped a 28-year-old woman, who had gone for toilet in the open. The minor, in his written confessional statement to the police, said that he along with Jeetendra and Sandeep were returning from a party drunk when he accosted the woman.
He further said that they approached her and gangraped her at knife point and later escaped. The police said that the woman was found abandoned in semi-nude condition behind the bushes near Delhi Development Authority’s (DDA) vacant plot.
The woman’s body also bore injury marks where the rapists had dig their teeth into her skin.
According to the police the victim, a resident of Pansari village was working as labourer. On Thursday at 5.30am, while the victim went for toilet in the open, three men at knife point gangraped her. The accused then abandoned her near some bushes and fled the spot.
The incident came to light when some passersby heard the woman’s faint cries and found her in a semi-nude condition and bleeding profusely.
They immediately informed the family and the police, who visited the spot and rushed her to a nearby hospital.
Based on the description given by the woman, and with the help of local informers, the juvenile accused was apprehended on Friday and based on his confession, his friend Sandeep was also arrested.
