New Delhi: In a bid to create awareness among voters to cast their vote in the upcoming Lok Sabha elections, the Delhi Election Commission (EC) launched a mobile application for the Chandni Chowk Lok Sabha constituency on Thursday.

The app, “Vote Chandni Chowk,” will facilitate voters regarding seat access information about the constituency, location of polling booths, and other facilities provided to the electorate.

“The presentation was conducted by the Delhi Technological University students, who were shortlisted following a contest among the eight technical colleges.

The app provides data on the number of male, female, and third gender voters in the constituency along with a reminder to vote, details and picture of the polling stations, pick up and drop services for third gender and persons with disability, and it will even show the results for the Lok Sabha elections,” said North Delhi district electoral officer Tanvi Garg.

The app was launched in four languages — English, Hindi, Urdu, and Punjabi — for an easy excess as per the preferred language of the voters.

“It is presently available for android users only. However, it will be available for IOS users soon.” said an official.

The app was launched by Delhi chief electoral officer Ranbir Singh, who urged Ms Garg and her team to ensure that the facilities listed in the app are made available on the day of polling on May 12.
