BJP rally to gather support for note ban
New Delhi: Thousands of BJP workers on Friday joined a “Sankalp March” organised by the party’s Delhi unit to garner public support for Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s demonetisations scheme.
BJP workers marched from Maharishi Valmiki Mandir to Patel Chowk near the Parliament. At the statue of Sardar Vallabh Bhai Patel near Patel Chowk, Union minister of state for finance, Arjun Meghwal, administered oath of support to Prime Minister Modi’s fight against black money and corruption to the thousands of people present on the occasion. Union minister Dr Harsh Vardhan, Rajya Sabha member Shyam Jaju, Delhi BJP general secretary (organisation) Siddharthan and Lok Sabha members Maheish Girri, Ramesh Bidhuri, Pravesh Verma, Meenakshi Lekhi, Leader of Opposition in Delhi Assembly Vijender Gupta and senior party leader Prof Vijay Kumar Malhotra also joined the march.
Before administering the oath of support to the gathering, Mr Meghwal said that ordinary citizens have no reason to fear demonetisation, as the government stands by all hardworking Indians.
“The Modi government will ensure that honest and ordinary citizens do not face any kind of harassment,” he said.
