Techie goes to file theft FIR, ignored by city cops
New Delhi: The reckless attitude of the Delhi police has yet again surfaced after a software engineer, who approached them for registering an FIR, was completely ignored by the cops. After facing refusal from the cops, he started self-investigation into the case, following which he reached the miscreant’s house.
According to sources, the victim, Aashish Pandey, lives in a rented apartment in Delhi’s Sultanpur area. On Tuesday, around 10 am, he stepped out for some work. On returning, he found that valuables amounting to Rs 1 lakhs, including his laptop, was missing. He immediately went to the police station to lodge an FIR. After this, the cops sent him back and asked the victim to do the same “online.”
Even after three days, when the police did not take any action, he started investigating the robbery himself with the help of some CCTV footages. He also took inputs from locals. After gathering adequate information against the suspect, he reached the theif’s house.
“I took all the proofs against the suspect to the police station but they did not take any action. Recently, after a long period, the SHO said that the matter will be investigated,” said Pandey.
He even tried to contact the district ACP but failed.
