Police busts illicit liquor gangs, two arrested
New Delhi: The Outer district police arrested two persons on Monday after busting two separate gangs involved in illicit liquor and recovered a total of 40 cartons from their possession.
In view of the occasion of the Holi festival, the police was directed to be alert about transportation and supply of illicit liquor.
As a result, the staff of Ranhola district has arrested one Hukam Chand, (55) resident of Baprola, New Delhi, and recovered 10 cartons (each carton containing 50 quarters of illegal wine made in Haryana).
After his arrest, the police claimed to solved eight cases involving illicit liquor.
In another incident, the police personnel of the Ranhola police station arrested another accused, Amit Hooda (28) of Rohtak, Haryana. They recovered 30 cartons of illicit liquor (each carton containing 50 quarters of illegal wine made in Haryana, totalling 1,500 quarters),” said Rajendra Singh Sagar, additional deputy commissioner of police, Outer district.
Mr Sagar also added that the car in which the consignment was being transported was also seized.
