Shed insensitivity in public interest, BJP tells city govt
New Delhi: The BJP on Monday urged the Arvind Kejriwal government to shed its insensitivity in the larger public interest. The saffron party demanded that the chief minister and his deputy should apologise to the officials and assure them a proper conduct in future.
Delhi BJP president Manoj Tiwari said the administrative crisis, which is being witnessed in the national capital for the last one week, has reached a deadlock due to the egoistic and violent politics followed by the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP). Mr Kejriwal is fully responsible for this deadlock, he added.
“All concerned, except the Kejriwal government, has tried to soothe down the administrative crisis. The officials, who announced a strike, withdrew it after the first day. The lieutenant-governor gave his suggestion on mediation. Both media and political parties suggested that Mr Kejriwal act against the culprits, who assaulted the chief secretary,” he added.
The Delhi BJP chief claimed that the chief minister has shown no seriousness and has not acted upon the MLAs involved in the assault. The reports of distorting the CCTV footage has indicated towards a criminal conspiracy angle on the goernment’s part.
“It will not be inappropriate if we say that due to the Kejriwal government’s anarchy, Delhi today stands in a constitutional crisis. The only solution can be an apology towards the people and officials by the government of Delhi,” said Mr Tiwari.
Delhi BJP’s Scheduled Caste Morcha, meanwhile, organised a prayer meeting at Rajghat on Monday to wake up the conscience of Mr Kejriwal, who has been repeatedly violating the spirit of the Constitution. Later, Mr Tiwari administered oath of Constitution (Samvidhan ki Shapth) to the assembled people and party workers, who pledged to respect and abide by the Constitution of India.
“At one time or another, the CM has challenged the federal structure of the nation, the Army, the L-G, and the media,” Mr Tiwari said.
