It's time to introspect, says Kapil Mishra

Many AAP leaders blamed the EVM tampering for the party's rout in Delhi Municipal polls.

Even as many AAP leaders blamed the EVM tampering for the party's rout in Delhi Municipal polls, Delhi Water Minister Kapil Mishra called for “introspection” over the party’s dismal performance. In an interview with Pragya Singh, he said that it was time for the party to reach out to the people and find the “missing link”.

Q: What do you have to say about the MCD poll results?
We have to accept the fact that the people have not voted for us. It is time for us to introspect and find out the reasons behind the party’s defeat. It is time for us to go back to the people and find out that “missing link” as two years back the party had received a historic mandate in the city. May be our approach was wrong, or we were unable to communicate with the people. Unless we introspect, we will never be able to find out the reasons for our performance, even after doing good work for people of Delhi in the last two years.

Q. What will be the party’s course of action now?
It is time to go back to the voters and understand where we went wrong. Right now, we are not jumping to any conclusions. There is no need to hurry.
