2 killed, Rs 12 Lakh robbed in cash van heist
New Delhi: In a robbery-cum-murder case, three days after robbers targeted a cash van in Rohini on Thursday, two custodians of a cash collection van were on Thursday shot dead by unidentified assailants, who also robbed Rs 12 lakh from the cash van, the police said.
The police said the robbery-cum-killing took place around 2.30 pm when the van had come to pick up cash from a wine shop at DSIIDC industrial area in Narela, they added.
Three persons came on a mobike and fired on the guard and the cashier and stole around Rs 12 lakh, DCP, Rohini, Rajneesh Goel said. The deceased have been identified as Rajnikant (cashier) and Prem Kumar (guard). They wee rushed to Raja Harishchandra Hospital in Narela, but they succumbed to injuries, he added.
The Delhi Police Crime Branch and Special Cell have been associated to solve the case,” added Mr. Goel.
