DU girl missing, police says she eloped with boy
New Delhi: A first year Delhi University student allegedly went missing three days ago from her hostel.
Preliminary probe reveals that the girl eloped with her love interest to Hyderabad and a team has been sent there. Police said that the incident took place around four days ago.
The father of the girl registered a complaint with the police after no communication was established with her. When the Murice Nagar police went to investigate, the girl’s room was found clear of all her belongings. The father allegedly told the police that a boy from Hyderabad might have kidnapped her.
Probe reveals that the two were childhood friends. While the boy got a job as a warden in Hyderabad, the girl came to Delhi. A team has been sent to Hyderabad and the police there has been alerted about the same and asked to find if the boy is involved.
Meanwhile, three months have passed since a student went missing from Satyavati College. The police, however, has not been able to solve the mysterious case.
According to Dinesh Kumar Thakur, the father of Gaurav Thakur, it has been three months and there has been no trace of his son. He further alleged that the college authorities are shrugging their responsibility. He said that his son was disturbed and had written in his notes about two lady professors harassing him.
The family has been making rounds of the college and the police station. However, there has been no news of the missing student.
