Brother-in-law held for murder of minor boy

New Delhi: The team of Delhi police successfully cracked a kidnap-cum-murder case of an 11-year-old minor and arrested the victim’s brother-in-law for brutally hacking the minor to death. The incident had taken place in Northeast Delhi’s Harsh Vihar police station limits on May 20.

The police said that the arrested has been identified as Prashant alias Chintu, 21, a resident of Bheta Hazipur in Ghaziabad. The police has also recovered the skull, bones, clothes, chappal and locket (Tabiz) of the deceased child and the brick used for the murder.

According to the police, on May 20, the complainant, Raju, a resident of Mandoli Extension, approached the Harsh Vihar police station around 11 pm and reported that his son, aged about 11 years is missing since last six hours and gave details about his son.

The police further said, a team was formed and investigation was taken up. The police said that there was no clue about the criminals involved in this case. Local inquiries were made by the police to extract any clue about the kidnapping. During the course of investigation, it was found that the son-in law of complainant, namely Prashant alias Chintu, is not having good relations with the family of the complainant.

Investigation of the case was carried out from all the angles. On the basis of secret information, activities of Prashant were found to be suspicious. The police, who was keeping an eye on Prashant, got credible information on Thursday that he will be  coming to meet his advocate in Karkardooma Court. On the basis of the information, Prashant was apprehended.
