One killed in South-West Delhi over trivial issue
New Delhi: In a case of drunken brawl, a 25-year-old man was shot dead allegedly by a group of five men following an altercation over a trivial issue in Malikpur village near Jafarpur Kalan in South-west Delhi outskirts on Wednesday night.
Police said the scuffle broke out between two groups when they hurled abuses at each other, while consuming alcohol in an open field in the village. As many as half-a-dozen bullets were fired by the accused group.
Three of them hit the man, Sachin Lakra in his chest, above the eyebrow and in his leg. He succumbed to the bullet wounds during treatment at Balaji Action hospital on Thursday. Mr Lakra’s two friends who were with him at the crime scene escaped unhurt, police said.
Shibesh Singh, deputy commissioner of police (southwest), said that one of the attackers, identified as Anil alias Ajay, was arrested soon after the crime.
The other four, including the prime suspects Vikas alias Monu and his father Naresh aka Pandit Ji are absconding.
“The deceased in his dying statement told the police that the bullets were fired by Mr Naresh. A case of murder has been registered and investigation is underway,” the police officer said.
