City cops arrest 3 in murder case

The police has also recovered the knife which was used in the crime from accused Satish.

New Delhi: The Delhi police has cracked the murder case of Govind, a civil defence employee posted at SDM office in Rajouri Garden. The three accused have been identified as Sandeep, Sagar, and Satish. The police has also recovered the knife which was used in the crime from accused Satish.

According to the police, a call was received at the Adarsh Nagar police station on Saturday, informing them that somebody had stabbed Govind. Soon, a team reached the petrol pump opposite Parmeshwari Wala Bagh, where it was learnt that Govind had already been taken to Hindu Rao Hospital. However, he succumbed to his injuries.

Teams were constituted to crack the case, based on the statements of eyewitnesses. According to them, two stoutly built persons came to have juice from a vendor. The duo refused to pay for it and when the vendor, Santosh Kumar, resisted and asked for the money, they started abusing him. Soon, a scuffle ensued and the duo left after issuing some threats.

They returned later in the evening. At that time two of Santosh’s friends — Mahesh and Sumit — were also present. A fight ensued between them and Govind, another of Santosh’s friends, was called to join the fight.

Similarly, their counterparts also called their friend Sagar to join them in the fight. Meanwhile, Satish, whose name was established later on during the investigation, took out a knife and stabbed Govind on his chest, leading to his death.
