BJP blames AAP, Congress for traders' woes
New Delhi: The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) and Congress raised questions over the absence of all seven BJP MPs at a joint season of the three MCDs on the issue of sealing. Meanwhile, Delhi BJP strongly condemned the attempt made by Congress and AAP to obstruct the emergency session of the municipal corporations called on the issue of sealing.
Delhi BJP sources said that the MPs were not in a mood to involve in a blame game with AAP councillors as they were trying to mislead Delhiites over the sealing issue.
The MPs wanted to address the matter with the traders, who have been hit the hardest, in a serious tone to dissolve the sealing.
This was the reason why they avoided attending the joint meet.
Delhi BJP general secretary Kuljeet Singh Chahal and all the three mayors of Delhi — Kamaljeet Sehrawat, Dr Preety Aggarwal, and Neema Bhagat — have strongly condemned, in a press conference on Saturday, the attempt made by Congress and Aam Aadmi Party to obstruct the emergency session of the municipal corporations called on the issue of sealing. It also said this shows both the parties do not want to solve the problem of sealing, but only want to politically mislead the traders of Delhi.
Meanwhile, Delhi BJP president Manoj Tiwari will raise the issue of Delhi traders in the Budget Session of the Parliament starting on January 29 and demand increasing the floor-area-ratio (FAR); re-notifying the conversion charge rates; making required amendment in the master plan; and for stopping the sealing process in Delhi for six months.
