50-year-old, son assaulted over parking dispute
New Delhi: A 50-year-old man and his family were mobbed and attacked by the people of their locality over a parking dispute on Thursday. A mob of as many as 25 people allegedly assaulted Bhagwan Mishra and his son, Rajat, over a parking dispute which happened two days ago.
The entire act was witnessed by the neighbours. To make the matter worse, when Mr Mishra approached the Sangam Vihar police to register a complaint, he was asked to drop the case. The police constable on duty registered an FIR in this connection only after the senior authority intervened.
The incident occured around 3 pm on Thursday when Mr Mishra came home from work. As soon as he returned, a mob, led by Dharmender and his brother Mahender, along with their mother and sister, entered their house and started to break things and assaulted them.
“We somehow managed to lock us inside another room, but even then they didn’t stop. They threw glasses at us and tried to burn our house by pulling the pipe out of the gas cylinder. My son Rajat was severely injured. When the police came, they ran away. However, Dharmender has been caught by the police, while Mahender is absconding,” Mr Misha said.
Dharmender was previously booked for forgery but was released later by the police.
A case has been registered in Sangam Vihar police station under Sections 341, 323, 452, 427, 506, and 34 of the IPC and a probe has been initiated in this regard.
