Kejriwal meets AP CM, discusses national' issues
New Delhi: In the run-up to the next year’s Lok Sabha elections, Delhi chief minister Arvind Kejriwal Saturday met his Andhra Pradesh counterpart N. Chandrababu Naidu and discussed national issues. Mr Kejriwal said Loktantrik Janata Dal (LJD) chief Sharad Yadav was also present for a while. The meeting took place at the Andra Pradesh Bhavan.
Talking about the meeting, the Delhi chief minister tweeted that they discussed national issues and agreed that the present BJP government is a threat to the nation and to the Constitution.
“Had a gud meeting wid Chndrababu Naidu ji. Sh Sharad Yadav ji was also present for a while. Discussed national issues. Present NJP govt is a threat to the nation n to the Constitution. People across India will need to join hands to save India n the Constitution,” Mr Kejriwal tweeted.
The move is being seen as an attempt to garner support against BJP ahead of the run-up to the next year’s Lok Sabha elections. Mr Naidu is expected to meet leaders from the Left parties and others representing a non-NDA Opposition. Telugu Desam Party (TDP) chief Mr Naidu was an NDA ally till March this year when he pulled out of the BJP-led alliance to protest against the Centre’s refusal to grant special category status to Andhra Pradesh.
Mr Naidu also met former Jammu and Kashmir chief minister and president of the National Conference party Farooq Abdullah at the latter’s residence in Tilak Marg.
