New Delhi: Delhi BJP chief and Bhojpuri superstar Manoj Tiwari has used his brief appearance as Ramayana character, Angad, while performing at a Ramlila in the national capital, to send across a political message to the audience about the Indian Army’s exploits against cross border terrorism.

Dressed as the mythological character of Angad, Mr Tiwari referred to Lord Hanuman’s torching of Lanka as “surgical strike” in a sequence of Ramlila on Wednesday night.

While enacting the well-known story of Angad putting down his leg firmly in the court of the demon king Ravana, Mr Tiwari warned his soldiers, “Listen, if you even dare to come near me, I will bury you two and half feet under the ground.”

Earlier this week, Army chief general Bipin Rawat said that surgical strikes on terror launch pads across the LoC could be repeated, if necessary, seeking to send a stern message to Pakistan.

“Terrorists will keep coming because the (terror) camps are operational there (across the LoC). Even we are ready. We will keep receiving them (infiltrators) to dispatch them two-and-a-half feet below the ground,” General Rawat had said. The surgical strikes were conducted on the intervening night of September 28-29 last year.
