Vijender Gupta accuses Kejriwal of shielding Kanhaiya
NEW DELHI: Leader of Opposition in Delhi Assembly, Vijender Gupta on Friday alleged that chief minister Arvind Kejriwal is working on strategy to ensure that sedition case does not come as stumbling block in Kanhaiya Kumar’s political journey.
Mr Gupta claimed that secret agenda in not giving permission to the Delhi police to file chargesheet in the sedition case against Kanhaiya and others is now out. “The “tukre-tukre” gang leader accused of sedition in JNU case, Kanhaiya Kumar is fighting election on ticket from CPI in the coming Lok Sabha elections. CPI’s Bihar secretary Satya Narain Singh has confirmed that Mr Kejriwal will campaign for Kanhaiya in Begusarai. Now it is confirmed that behind the drama of repeated delay in filing the charge-sheet since January 14 was deliberate, planned and sustained strategy to ensure that the sedition case does not come as a stumbling block in Kanhaiya Kumar’s political journey,” said Mr Gupta.
According to Mr Gupta, with extending political support to CPI’s candidate Kanhaiya Kumar, Mr Kejriwal has shown that his real sympathy lies with urban naxalism and “tukre-tukre” gang, led by former JNU students’ union president. “It is his (Mr Kejriwal) well-thought conspiracy to ensure that Kanhaiya Kumar fight Lok Sabha election. Had he been chargesheeted, his candidature and campaigning would have come under cloud,” Mr Gupta added.
