New Delhi: The recent alleged molestation and kidnap bid, which took place on Saturday night in South Delhi’s Vasant Kunj area, has exposed the security preparedness of Delhi police in the wake of Independence Day, which is just around the corner.

A 21-year-old alert woman exhibiting presence of mind thwarted the plans of two youth who tried to kidnap her in Vasant Kunj in South Delhi. The woman jumped out of the car window and raised an alarm, forcing the duo to flee.

According to police, the incident took place around 8 pm on Saturday. The victim, who works in a beauty parlour in the Vasant Kunj police station area, was heading home when the two youth approached her on the pretext of inquiring about a woman named Seema. However, when they got near the woman, they molested her. They then forcibly pulled her inside the car. The woman, in a heroic move, took a calculated risk and jumped out of the car.

By the time the alleged kidnapers could realise what had transpired, another woman, who was passing by the area, came to the victim’s rescue following which the two youth fled from the spot. Soon, locals gathered. The family of the woman was informed, who then rushed to the spot and informed the police.
