Dusu polls: NSUI releases digital manifesto'
New Delhi: The National Students’ Union of India (NSUI) became the first student organisation to launch a ‘digital manifesto’ for the upcoming Delhi University Students’ Union (Dusu) polls, it claimed on Wednesday.
The manifesto has been prepared after a detailed discussion with Delhi University students using social media platforms such as WhatsApp, Facebook, Twitter among others.
“Keeping in view the spirit of digital revolution introduced by former PM Rajiv Gandhi, the manifesto was launched on Facebook, Twitter, where #NSUIDigiManifesto was on the top in trending list in India,” said Neeraj Mishra, the NSUI media coordinator.
While addressing the problems in different colleges, the Congress-affiliated NSUI promised the students that they “we will take up all these issues once we come to power in Dusu”.
Along with these campaigns, NSUI is also running a class-to-class awareness drive to raise voting percentage in Dusu election, scheduled for September 12. Campai-gning by student outfits is in full swing at the north campus.
The NSUI also hit out at Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad, accusing it of being an “anti-women” outfit and suppoting curtailing freedom of girl students. Releasing its manifesto for girl students, the NSUI said the RSS and its affiliated groups “were dictating what people should eat, whom to marry, and how the women should dress”.
