Two minors raped in Pune, accused held
Pune: The Pune police have arrested a 23-year-old man for allegedly raping a four-year-old girl. The accused is a habitual offender and has many FIRs against him, said a police official.
Vishajit Khule, police inspector, Chinchwad police, said, “The girl’s parents have registered an FIR against Uchapa Lingappa Manglur who is a habitual offender. The accused on Tuesday evening saw the girl, who lives in a slum in Pimpri. Subsequently, he took her to a nearby open space and raped her.”
He added, “As the girl did not come home for long her parents started looking for her. Their neighbour saw the victim lying on a road near the slum with bruises on her face. Later the girl narrated the incident to her parents following which they lodged an FIR. Subsequently, she was taken to Sassoon General Hospital for medical test and treatment. The girl is still not in good condition and is in the hospital.”
“The accused is in custody,” Mr Khule added.
In another case, a 23-year-old man has been arrested for raping six-year-old girl by luring her with chocolates.
Vithal Kubale, senior police inspector, Pimpri, said, “The victim’s parents have lodged an FIR against their neighbour Mohsin Shaikh.”
