Mentally disturbed man kills 3 with axe in Nashik
Nashik: A man, who is suspected to be suffering from psychological disorder, allegedly killed three persons and wounded six others with an axe at Hingan Dehere, Nashik on Tuesday morning.
The killer, Ravindra Bagul, was arrested by the police, which is ascertaining the reasons behind the action of the accused.
Bagul is a tempo driver working with a firm in Mumbai, according to the police. One of the deceased was a relative of the accused. The police said that Bagul got angry and went berserk with an axe in Hingan Dehere village of Nandgaon tehsil at around 9 am.
The villagers who were going to the fields saw him with the axe and began fleeing. One of villagers alerted the police.
By the time, the police arrived, Bagul had hacked and killed Mangu Pawar (25), Keshav Kachru Bagul (60) and Subhash Shivaji Bachhav (56). Sources said that six others also suffered injuries.
A senior inspector at Nandgaon police station Bashir Shaikh said that they had arrested the accused. He will be produced in court on Wednesday. “This is a very serious incident as three persons have been killed,” Nashik superintendent Sanjay Darade and additional superintendent H Potdar.
The autopsy was conducted at Nandgaon rural hospital, and the bodies were handed over to their families.
