Nagpur: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Friday reiterated that he had given a free hand to the forces to retaliate. The perpetrators of the Pulwama genocide would not be spared by the armed forces, which had been given full freedom to choose the location, modus operandi and strategy for settling scores with the enemies as our CRPF jawans had been killed, the PM said before a large gathering in Yavatmal.

Without naming Pakistan, Mr Modi said that the “neighbouring country” had actually earned the title of “terror” itself. He said, “A nation which came into existence after partition and encourages terror activities, and which is on the verge of bankruptcy, has now become the second name for terror.”

“The supreme sacrifice of our CRPF jawans will not go waste and a perfect response will be given to the enemies,” the PM thundered.

Asserting that the country was in deep pain over what happened in Pulwama, the PM said, “The sacrifice of the CRPF personnel martyred in Pulwama will not go in vain. The perpetrators of the crime will be punished. The security forces have been given a free hand to punish the perpetrators of the crime. I appeal to the country to have patience and faith in the security forces. Our forces will decide the place, time and manner in which the perpetrators of this crime will be punished.”

Mr Modi was speaking to a large number of women from the SHG group in Pandharkawda in Yavatmal district. Maharashtra governor Ch. Vidyasagar Rao; chief minister Devendra Fadnavis; Union minister for roads, transport and shipping Nitin Gadkari; and Union minister of state for home Hansraj Ahir and Madan Yerawar were present on the occasion.

Listing the achievements of his government, Mr Modi detailed all schemes for the poor, women and farmers.
