BJP leaders to face action for skipping RSS session

Khadse missing the meeting set the rumour mills churning in the political circles.

Nagpur: The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has decided to send notices to party MLAs who bunked a ‘bouddhik’ (brainstorming) meet organised by Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) in Nagpur on Wednesday.

There was a lecture at the RSS headquarters for BJP MLAs and MLCs on issues related to governance. Almost all MLAs attended the meeting except former minister Eknath Khadse, MLA Ashish Deshmukh and Narendra Mehta.

Sources said that Mr Mehta had some personal issues due to which he could not attend the meeting.

The RSS organises such meetings for the saffron party MLC and MLAs in Nagpur every year. The meetings are about informing RSS work, coordination between RSS, sharing information of organisations working closely with the RSS, and issues that the RSS feels strongly about.

Mr Khadse missing the meeting set the rumour mills churning in the political circles. However, Mr Khadse clarified that he had some health issues and had a medical appointment with the doctors.

Mr Deshmukh, who is seen as sulking MLA by many has been very vocal about the BJP government. Mr Deshmukh’s absence at the RSS meet sent the political circle abuzz, since he was seen with National Congress Party (NCP) leader Ajit Pawar in the assembly area in the morning.

The BJP will send notices to the MLAs who didn’t attend the meet in Nagpur.
The lecture was held at the RSS HQ. Leaders who didn’t attend the meeting include Eknath Khadse and Ashish Deshmukh.
