Prime Minister Modi Takes a Sortie on Indigenously Built Tejas Aircraft in Bengaluru

Modi was scheduled to visit Telangana to campaign for the Assembly polls in the State

Bengaluru: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday went on a a sortie on indigenously built Tejas aircraft built by Hindustan Aeronautics Limited (HAL), Bengaluru City and the sortie of the Prime Minister lasted for a few minutes which took from HAL Airport in Bengaluru City. On Saturday morning, Narendra Modi flew to Bengaluru City to visit HAL and reviewed the ongoing works there.

The indigenously built Tejas aircraft came in for praise from the Prime Minister Narendra Modi and after his sortie, Prime Minister Narendra Modi on his X account posted “Successfully completed sortie on the Tejas. The experience was incredibly enriching, significantly bolstering my confidence in our country’s indigenous capabilities and leaving me with a renewed sense of pride and optimism about our national potential.”

The Prime Minister congratulated the Indian Air Force, Defense Research and Development Organisation and Hindustan Aeronautics Limited.

A light combat aircraft was named “Tejas” (meaning radiance) in 2003 and it is an all weather and multi-role fighter aircraft. The design of Tejas is to undertake Ground Maritime Operations and to take up offensive air support, close combat and ground attack roles with ease.

It is dimensionally the smallest and lightest in its class. Light Combat Aircraft-Tejas is capable of firing a variety of weapons like Long Range missiles, bombs among others with required precision and accuracy. Tejas is Electronically Scanned Array RADAR with low probability of interception.

From Bengaluru, Modi was scheduled to visit Telangana to campaign for the Assembly polls in the State.
