Pune: A Pune man has been booked for filming videos of a couple getting intimate from a window with the help of his mobile and selfie stick without the knowledge of the couple. The accused is absconding but the police has invoked charges of molestation and violation of privacy against him.

B.R. Unde, police inspector, Hinjewadi, Pune said, “The couple, both software engineers working at IT firms in Hinjewadi, has lodged a FIR against their neighbour.

According to the complainant, their neighbour Kundan Ashte, who is also an engineer and works at an IT firm in Hinjewadi, had been taking videos of her physical relationship with her husband. Ashte, who stays in the flat above the couple, had been filming the couple while getting intimate in their own house from his flat using a selfie stick. According to the complainant, one day, she saw the flash of a mobile and got suspicious.

Unde said, “She then kept a watch on the guy and won his trust. The accused then showed her the videos. As per the complainant, the accused had been taking the couple’s videos for the last three months. The complainant lodged a FIR with Hinjewadi police. The accused absconded when he learnt that she had filed a FIR against him. But we will soon arrest him. We have booked him under section 354 of the Indian Penal Code for molestation and under section 66E of the Information Technology Act 2000 for violating privacy.”
