Minor accused of murder gets two years probation

Nagpur: A 20-year-old youth, who was booked in a kidnapping-murder case when he was a 17-year-old, was sent under probation of two years on Wednesday by the Juvenile Justice Board.

The minor, who has been held guilty of kidnapping and hatching conspiracy, has been placed under the supervision of District Child Protection Unit (DCPU).

Though he was a minor while committing the crime, it created a sensation in city as the victim, Yug Chandak, was the son of a high profile medical practitioner.

Yug, an eighth standard boy and son of a doctor couple, was kidnapped and murdered by two persons. The juvenile was later booked for helping in the plan and conspiring the act. He was rounded up too before being sent to Children Observation Home. He was released on bail after spending three years in the home.

The Board (JJB) has also asked the DCPU to prepare a special care plan programme for the accused.
