BJP leader likens polls in Bengal to India-Pakistan war
Kolkata: BJP candidate of Kolkata North Rahul Sinha claimed on Tuesday that the Lok Sabha Elections in West Bengal is going to be the “war between Indians and Pakistanis.” Slamming chief minister Mamata Banerjee over her doubts on the Indian Air Force strike on the terror camps at Balakot in Pakistan he asserted that the voters in the state would cast their ballots in favour of this country.
At the state BJP headquarters Mr Sinha said, “The people of Bengal are in support of the country and not in favour of Pakistan. They have understood the motive of those who sing in tune of Pakistan because Bengal is such a state which played a leading role in the freedom struggle of India. After Bengal, Punjab comes second. Now the patriotic people of this state are looking at them in wonder.”
Taking a dig at the TMC supremo Mr Sinha alleged, “Once the revolutionaries here braced death by hanging for freedom. But Ms Banerjee suffers from pain when terror camps are bombed in Pakistan. She demands proof about the place of being bombed, who were killed and which houses were destroyed.”
He reasoned, “So the people of this state feel that the biggest issue in the ensuing polls here is going to be the war between the Indians and Pakistanis apart from other issues.”
The former state BJP president added, “But they will be with the country always. Still a section of people who are disillusioned due to some reasons may cast their votes in favour of Pakistan. Anyway this is going to be the battle to protect the country’s sovereignity.”
He argued that the Trinamul workers from north Kolkata have been joined the BJP in large numbers.
