A spokesman of the Alipore Meteorological office said, Darjeeling, Kalimpong, Coochbehar, Alipurduar will experience heavy rains in the next 48 hours.

Kolkata: The Met department on Saturday forecast heavy rains in sub-Himalayan West Bengal districts in the next 48 hours. A spokesman of the Alipore Meteorological office said, Darjeeling, Kalimpong, Coochbehar, Alipurduar will experience heavy rains in the next 48 hours.

East/West Midnapore, Burdwan, Birbhum, Kolkata, North/South 24 Parganas districts in South Bengal will also experience showers with isolated heavy rains in some parts during the time, he said.

The rains were caused by a monsoon trough passing through the state, he said adding the relative humidity ranged from 98 per cent to 82 per cent, he said. The maximum temperature recorded on Saturday was 32.2 Celsius.
