Man tries to rape his relative, arrested
The accused had visited the woman’s house where she lives with her husband, their four-year-old daughter and in-laws on Saturday afternoon.
Kolkata: An aged man tried to rape his relative at Sonarpur in South 24 Parganas. The accuse, Sukharanjan Hawladar, was however caught by the local residents who handed over him to the police.
The incident took place at Nepalpally. The accused had visited the woman’s house where she lives with her husband, their four-year-old daughter and in-laws on Saturday afternoon.
Finding her alone in a room he attempted to rape her but she resisted.
Hearing her screams her daughter rushed to the room. Sukharanjan fled. He was later caught by the locals who also attacked his house. The victim was taken to a hospital for treatment. A case was initiated following her complaint. He is a close aide of a senior functionary of a Trinamul Congress-ruled gram panchayet in the district. Locals alleged that Sukharanjan ealier misbehaved with the women also.
