CID arrests two working as doctors with forged papers

CID sleuths are on the lookout of more fake doctors who are operating with such fake certificates in areas like Alipurduar, Jalpaiguri etc.

Kolkata: The state Criminal Investigation Department (CID) arrested two doctors from the government hospitals of Alipurduar and North Dinajpur for not possessing the degree of a doctor and using forged documents to procure their jobs.

The CID acted on the basis of a compliant lodged by the state health department at the Electronic Complex police station in Salt Lake that a handful of doctors in North Bengal were operating with forged documents. “We have arrested Kaiser Alam, who was employed in a block primary health centre in Chopra in North Dinajpur, and Khusinath Haldar, who was employed in Madarihat block primary health centre in Alipurduar,” a senior CID official said.

A sleuth informed that Mr Alam was employed since September 15, 2011 and used to do a range of activities from issuing death certificates to performing surgeries. He got a monthly salary of '40,000. He was picked up on the basis of a source information from his residence at Chopra Bazar. He used to work for the National Health Mission.

Mr Haldar, the other fake doctor who was caught, was also employed since 2011. He is a resident of Birpara in Coochbehar.
