IPS reshuffle, Shammim back in state police

Kolkata: In a major reshuffle in IPS cadre in West Bengal, IGP (traffic), North Bengal, Jawed Shamim has returned to Kolkata police as additional commissioner of police-II.

Besides Mr Shamim, 12 other senior officials have been given new posting, an official at the state secretariat said today quoting a notification issued by the home department.

With the new posting of Mr Shamim, the present additional commissioner of police-II in Dr R. Sivakumar will take over as IGP (Headquarters)-II in state police.

Simultaneously, SP of East Burdwan Kunal Agarwal has been asked to take over as SP of Birbhum, while SP of Nadia Santosh Pandey will take over as DC, cyber crime, in Kolkata police.

Anoop Jaisawal, commandant 6th Battalion, state armed police, has been asked to take over as SP of North Dinajpur replacing Shyam Singh who will take over as commandant 10th Battalion in state armed police, the official said.

Sudheer Kumar Neelakantam, SP of Birbhum, will now join as DC, east division, Kolkata police, replacing Rupesh Kumar, who has been asked to join as SP of Nadia.

Bhaskar Mukherjee, DC Zone-II (airport division), Bidhannagar police commissionerate, has been asked to join as SP of East Burdwan.
