Dilip Ghosh blames Mamata Banerjee for Moon mission failure
Kolkata: State BJP president Dilip Ghosh on Saturday held Trinamul Congress supremo Mamata Banerjee directly responsible behind the Indian Space Research Organisation’s Chandrayaan 2’s unsuccessful attempt, a day after her attack on Prime Minister Narendra Modi over the moon mission. He alleged that it was Ms Banerjee’s obstruction, which foiled the ISRO’s initiative.
“It was spoiled because of her obstruction. She does not want anything good to happen. She always creates obstruction to everything. May the almighty bless her with good sense. She is pained in be it Article 370 abrogation or Triple Talaq repeal or Chandrayaan 2 mission. We fail to understand why she suffers from pain so much,” the BJP MP of Midnapore alleged.
He claimed, “It was a challenging task. We have been able to wake up the entire country for it. A self esteem and patriotism have been developed over this that we can also do it. It was successful to some extent. Rest will also be successful. It is a continuous process. Some people are obstructing in it while others are in pain and are losing hopes. There is no reason of losing hope, however. Modi Hai Toh Mumkin Hai.”
On Friday, the West Bengal chief minister in the Assembly complained that Chandrayaan 2 was aimed by the Centre to divert the nation’s attention from the poor economic situation in the country.
She said, “As if the Chandrayaan 2 launch is the first in the country. As if before they came to power, no such missions were launched.”Referring to Mr Modi, Ms Banerjee added, “Suddenly, today he has gone there (at the ISRO headquarters in Bangalore) ... Now, for the next four days, the issue of Chandrayaan will continue to dominate.” As if they (the BJP) have done everything in the country. (As if) they have invented science ...” On Saturday, she however, showered lavish praise on the ISRO scientists and took pride in them over Chandrayaan 2. She tweeted, “We are proud of our scientists. The @isro team worked hard for #Chandrayaan2. A befitting tribute to our founding fathers who envisioned India’s place in the league of scientifically advanced nations far ahead of their times. A testimony to the scientific temper they ingrained in us, and their unmatched calibre and dedication. My sincere gratitude and congratulations to @isro. We are all with you. May you continue to make us proud!”
