Online retail outlet to sell and deliver fresh meat
Kolkata: In what appeared to be good news for the food-lovers ahead of the Bengali New Year, Haringhata Stores of the West Bengal Livestock Development Corporation Ltd (WBLDC) under the state animal resources development department has tied up with online retail outlet: Delybazar to sell and deliver fresh meat.
The newest venture of Haringhata Stores will allow a wide medley of tropical meat like lean pork, fresh pork, dressed pekin duck, dressed turkey meat, dressed quail, lamb meat among others to be available on Delybazar’s official website.
Delybazar, which has been making its presence felt in the market of online supply of fresh fish, meat and varied items of daily needs, is for the first time undertaking online marketing of exotic meat from the Haringhata Stores.
Earlier, the WBLDC only used to control their business through physical marketing.
Speaking on the tie-up WBLDC Ltd managing director Gouri Shankar Koner said, “So far the WBLDCL’s sales were confined only in the boundaries of offline marketing through numerous Haringhata outlets spread all across the state. In the era of globalisation, when internet has taken over a major part of our living, we tied up with Delybazar to venture into the field of online marketing. Delybazar’s initiative of selling fresh fish and other edibles is well appreciated. We look forward to get a positive feedback from our consumers on the same.”
Delybazar founder Abhirup Basak said, “Delybazar is always ready to serve at your door. On the gracious occasion of the Poila Baisakh, we thought of rewarding our customers with a taste of variety. Apart from chicken and mutton, unconventional meat like dressed pekin duck, dressed turkey, lamb meat will be available once we procure those meats directly from Haringhata stores.
