Kolkata: An FIR has been lodged against BJP leader Mukul Roy for allegedly making indecent comments against Purulia district magistrate Alokesh Prasad Roy.

On November 2, the BJP leader while addressing a party rally at Balarampur passed some lewd remarks on the DM apart from attacking him personally.

Mr Roy claimed that the district administration chief was acting as the Trinamul’s district chief who would be removed from his post by the Election Commission of India on the eve of the Lok Sabha elections. He also called the DM “shameless”. On Friday the Purulia DM lodged a complaint against the BJP leader at the Balarampur police station.

He said, “The complaint was lodged for insulting and making statements without any proof. Law is for all.”

Mr Roy however later said that the DM was free to lodge the FIR while asserting that “truth could not be hushed up”.
