TMC infighting killed MLA Biswas, says Mukul Roy
Kolkata: Rubbishing his role in Trinamul Congress MLA Satyajit Biswas’ murder Senior BJP leader Mukul Roy alleged that internal feud which has wrecked chief minister Mamata Banerjee’s party claimed the Krishnaganj legislator’s life. He made it clear that he was ready to face any “impartial” investigation.
Mr Roy, the BJP national executive committee member, claimed, “A conspiracy has been underway to drag the BJP’s name whenever and wherever killings, be it over internal feud or by miscreants, take place. Somewhere state BJP president Dilip Ghosh is accused while elsewhere I am accused. This is the picture of Bengal now.”
He argued, “Suppose one of our workers goes missing in Purulia. Now his father lodges an FIR alleging that his son went missing due to conspiracy of Mamata Banerjee. Does it hold any value? The surprising factor is that the police would not take any FIR if it is lodged against the Trinamul. The FIR would not be accepted.”
Mr Roy noted, “The murder of Biswas, a young MLA, is a very sad incident. I condemn it. I and BJP do not believe in the politics of killings. I demand an impartial probe which will prove who actually killed Satyajit. It will be found that those who are pointing fingers on others are involved in the murder.”
Lashing out at Trinamul Nadia district president Gouri Shankar Dutta, he added, “In this murder my name and some BJP workers’ names have been included. If anyone close to me stands accused, he should be arrested and must face the case. Will Mr Dutta swear who carried out the murder?”
Mr Roy said, “I have sent a legal notice through my lawyer to him for issuing threats against me. The Trinamul is torn apart due to faction feud. Let there be an impartial probe. I will face it.”
