Kolkata: In a bid to woo investors for the Bengal Global Business Summit 2018, scheduled on January 16 and 17, the Mamata Banerjee government will showcase the “success stories” of businessmen who have investments in Bengal. “A number of leading industrialists have invested in Bengal in the last few years. They have shared with us the continuous cooperation and assistance that they received from the state government. We are optimistic that if their experience is shared among the potential investors it will portray our state’s industry-friendly picture in a befitting manner. The captains of the industry will get more confidence about hassle-free investment in the state,” state industry minister Amit Mitra said after holding a meeting with industrialists. Mr Mitra, along with MSME minister Swapan Debnath, industry secretary Rajiva Sinha and a host of officials of other departments, heard the success stories of around 30 such industry captains who have business units in Bengal. “We will organise roadshows before BGBS 2018 involving these industrialists who are cherishing every bit of their business experience in Bengal. Their success stories will now be documented and showcased globally,” Mr Mitra added.
