Narada sting: ED pulls up mayor Sovan Chatterjee's brother

Saha was questionned for four hours before he was allowed to go. He is likely to be summoned again.

Kolata: The Enforcement Directorate (ED) on Wednesday questionned Subhasis Das, the brother-in-law of Trinamul Congress minister and Kolkata Mayor Sovan Chatterjee, and another businessman, in connection with the Narada sting operation case.

They were summoned and questionned by the union finance ministry’s agency during the probe to trace the trail of money allegedly accepted by Mr Chatterjee during the sting.

Mr Das appeared at the ED office in CGO Complex in Salt Lake in the morning. He was grilled and his statement was recorded. Sources indicated that Mr Das may be summoned again for questionning as some inconsistencies were found in his version.

Meanwhile, the ED suspect that a businessman named Dilip Saha was involved in an illegal transaction with a family member of Mr Chatterjee.

Mr Saha was questionned for four hours before he was allowed to go. He is likely to be summoned again.

Earlier, the ED, which is investigating the money laundering case, had questionned Mr Chatterjee and many other Trinamul leaders in August.
