Fake doctor hiring: CBI summons 3 ex-officials
Kolkata: The criminal investigation department (CID) has summoned three former senior officials of a reputed private hospital in the city for their questioning in connection with its probe in fake doctor recruitment racket.
Those who have been called at the CID headquarters are ex-medical director Brig (retired) A.K. Sanyal, former chief executive office: Brig (retd) S.B. Purakayastha and ex-human resource head Subrata Sidhanta of Ruby General Hospital, according to sources.
They have been asked to appear in the next three days to face questioning on Kaisar Alam, an arrested fake doctor, who earlier worked at the private hospital around 2010, sources revealed. Kaisar, who does not have an MBBS degree, was arrested by the CID along with another earlier this month.
Probing his job profile the CID later wanted to know from the private hospital authorities about his appointment and came to know in reply that the three senior officials were associated with his recruitment. The hospital authorities also informed the state detective agency that none of the three officials have been attached to its institute anymore.
On Thursday, the CID also questioned doctor Arindam Chanda, who was earlier posted as the assistant director at the hospital off EM Bypass. He is now attached to another private hospital on Lenin Sarani in central Kolkata.
