Message of unity, tableux, to bring in TMC's 6th year
Kolkata: The Trinamul Congress government that had taken charge in Bengal for the first time on May 20, 2011 has decided to celebrate its sixth anniversary in a big way. Two decked up tableau showcasing the achievements of the Mamata Banerjee government will be flagged off from state secretariat Nabanna on Saturday. The tableaux will be travelling around the districts till June 20 spreading the message of integrity. Titled “Ekatai Sampreeti (unity is integrity)”, the tableaux will publicise all the popular schemes of the government namely “Kanyashree, Yuvashree, Khadya Sathi, Sabuj Sathi, Baitarini, Somobyathi, Lok Prasar Prakalpa” and others.
“Since 2011, when the Trinamul Congress-led government came to power by ending the 34-year Left rule, it has succeeded in establishing democracy, peace and progress. People are hopeful that Bengal that has progressed a lot will one day be the best place in the world. We want to re-affirm this feeling through the occasion,” a minister of the state Cabinet said.
Cultural programmes will be held for three days in each of the districts. wherein “Handicrafts and other products made by the local artisans will be showcased at a specific venue in every district. The tableaux will stop at 5,000 places across the state,” the minister added.
A total of 38,000 folk artists will be involved in the programme including school students.
The tableaux will be flagged off by industry minister Amit Mitra and education minister Partha Chatterjee. This is for the first time that such an initiative has been undertaken by the state government.
The programme to hand over Banga Bibhusan and Banga Bhusan awards — that will be held on Saturday and to be presided over by the chief minister — will have a special video collage on the achievements of the government since 2011.
