Youth threatens woman from jail
Kolkata: A youth, who is now lodged in the judicial custody after facing arrest for attacking a female teacher for refusing his marriage proposal recently, has come under the scanner for threatening her over phone and on a social networking site from jail.
The accused, Dibakar Dey, has been lodged at Presidency Central Jail.
He was caught from Beliaghata in north Kolkata after he attacked the teacher’s residence in Salt Lake last month and went on rampage with his aides.
But the victim alleged that Dibakar, despite being behind bars, enjoys free access to mobile phones using which he called her and threatened to kill her even.
According to her, Dibakar regularly makes posts on Facebook targeting her. She has lodged a complaint with the cyber police station at Lalbazar, the city police headquarters.
The teacher also met deputy commissioner of police (eastern suburban division) Debasmita Das who assured her of taking action. Police arrangements have been made at the victim’s residence.
