Arrested three worked on spreading Qaeda network
Kolkata: The arrested two Ansarullah Bangla Team (ABT) members-Shamshad Miyan and Riyazul Islam frequented three metros — Hyderabad, Patna and Ranchi — to spread the terror outfit’s network of Al Qaeda of which ABT is an affiliate, the special task force of the Kolkata police suspects.
According to sources, the duo travelled to Hyderabad after entering India illegally crossing the border.
They worked there at a slaughter house which however was closed down later.
Following this, they moved to Belgaum in Karnataka where they procured their fake identity cards using which they opened a back account, sources revealed.
The duo later shifted to Patna and Ranchi before coming back to Kolkata. The STF is now probing the addresses they had stayed.
On Wednesday, the duo and Monotosh Dey were procuded before chief metropolitan magistrate Arnab Ghoshal at the city sessions court who has remanded them in the police custody for two weeks.
The STF found that Monotosh had stayed at multiple places in disguise of fake names of Shyamal and Ziarul Gazi.
His duplicate identities came to light when the investigators questionned a woman Gouri Dey who claimed herself as the nephew of Monotosh initially. She however told them later that she stayed with him as a couple at Maitrabagan in Basirhat.
Meanwhile Afroza Bibi of Dakshinapara in Basirhat claimed that she got married to Monotosh, who was then known as Ziarul Gazi, eleven years ago.
She alleged that Monotosh left home five days ago.
The STF found another house of retired CRPF officer: Ramprasad Adhikary at Kholapota where Monotosh stayed on rent in the guise of an armyman for two years since 2013.
