Major rejig in TMC at district level
Kolkata: Upset with her party’s poor show in the Lok Sabha election, Trinamul Congress supremo Mamata Banerjee on Saturday ordered a major reshuffle in the most of the districts where the BJP candidates won. These districts include Jhargram in the Jangalmahal belt, North and South Dinajpur and Malda in North Bengal. In many of them, the Trinamul candidates who lost in the LS polls were given top posts in the party organisation at the district level.
After chairing the emergency review meeting with the Trinamul candidates, both winners and losers, at her residence on Harish Chatterjee Street in Kalighat, Ms Banerjee said, “We have changed our district president in Jhargram.
