TMC is not suited for a gentleman like Bhutia'
Kolkata: Claiming that famous footballer Bhaichung Bhutia’s resignation from the Trinamul Congress has indicated beginning of the fall of the ruling party, BJP national secretary Rahul Sinha has kept the door ajar for Bhaichung if he wants to join the party.
Mr Sinha alleged, “The Trinamul is not suited for the gentleman. It is a matter of wonder how he could survive there for so long. Trinamul is the party for him to work for. It is up to him what he will do in future. There is no democracy, no policy and no decision in the Trinamul. Bhaichung’s resignation indicates that the crack has started widening in the Trinamool. The crack will widen further there.”
Asked if Bhaichung would join the BJP, Mr Sinha added, “It is upto him to decide what he will do. But if such a personality like him wants to join the BJP, he is welcome.” CPIM MLA of Siliguri, Mayor Asok Bhattacharya however said that it does not matter who joins or who quits the Trinamul.
He claimed, “We have no headache as to who joins the Trinamul or leaves it. Its the internal matter of the Trinamul. But what I understand is that many leaders who are with the Trinamul are leaving the party fast. Many of them may meet the same fate of that of former IPS officer Bharati Ghosh. Whoever came close to chief minister Mamata Banerjee had to leave the party. So many will not able to continue with the Trinamul with honour and dignity.”
