Stop dreaming of our ouster, focus on state: BJP
Kolkata: The BJP on Thursday said West Bengal chief minister Mamata Banerjee should not “dream” about ousting it from power and instead focus on governing the state properly.
BJP national secretary Rahul Sinha’s comments came a day after the Trinamul Congress chief alleged that the Centre had unleashed an “autocratic” rule in the country and “we (TMC) have to play a role so that the BJP is removed from power”.
Mr Sinha said, “Everybody has the right to dream. Maybe, she is also daydreaming about ousting the BJP from power.”
“But let me tell you, her dream will never come true. She should first learn how to govern the state properly and then dream about playing a role in national politics,” he added.
He claimed the state had turned into a safe haven for “anti-national” elements under the TMC rule and the state’s economy was also in tatters.
On Wednesday, Ms Banerjee had also alleged that the BJP was trying to finish off all other parties in the country.
On Wednesday, opposing linking of Aadhaar with mobile phone number, she had said, “They (Centre) are interfering in the people’s rights and privacy. Aadhaar number should not be linked with one’s mobile phone. I will not link my Aadhaar number with my mobile even if my connection is snapped.”
Ms Banerjee had said that the TMC does not want to be in power in Delhi but it has to play a role so that the BJP is ousted from power at the Centre.
