Celebration of 69 years of NCC at Fort William
State higher education department secretary R.S. Shukla, additional director-general of the NCC were present at the programme.
Kolkata: The National Cadet Corps (NCC) Day was celebrated on Sunday under the aegis of its West Bengal and Sikkim Directorate at Fort William, the headquarters of Eastern Command as the NCC completes 69 years of existence.
The anniversary celebration included a cultural event alongwith demonstrations by cadets of the three wings of the NCC — Army Navy and Air Force.
State higher education department secretary R.S. Shukla, additional director general of the NCC (WB & Sikkim directorate) Major General L.B. Chand and other senior officers were present at the programme.
Dr Shukla exhorted on the cadets to strive towards the cause of nation building and promised support to the NCC in conduct of its events in the state.
