Dilip Ghosh takes dig at CM over repeated trips to Delhi
Kolkata: Taking potshots at Trinamul Congress supremo Mamata Banerjee for her visit to New Delhi and her meeting with different political parties for anti-BJP platform, state BJP president Dilip Ghosh on Tuesday declared to take control of Kolkata if the chief minister would prolong her stay in New Delhi.
At a BJP meeting Nadia’s Krishnanagar he called on the party to put up resistance against the looting of votes.
“She is eyeing New Delhi because she has 34 MPs in the Parliament. Many have also claimed her to make her the next prime minister. Only 34 seats will not do however. Even if Ms Banerjee’s party has 42 seats which the state have, still it will not serve the purpose because to win New Delhi 272 seats are required. We won with 284 seats and that is why we formed the government,” Mr Ghosh said.
Referring to Ms Banerjee, the Kharagpur MLA wondered, “How can you make it? All roads are closed for you. So those who have found Ms Banerjee has a dream to become the PM are pumping air into the balloon of her imagination. That is why she went there for three days to return as the PM. But the fact is Delhi is too far for her. We are in Delhi and Modiji takes care of it.”
Sending a message to the Trinamool supremo Mr Ghosh added, “If you stay for longer period of time in Delhi, we will then take control of Kolkata. Her party is threatening us to not to allow filing of nomination for the Panchayat Elections.”
The state BJP president asserted that the party would take care of the candidates of the threats on them while filing their nominations. He told the BJP rank and file, “Each and every vote have its value in the Panchayat Elections. Those who are yet to become the voters, help them to become voters. Set up a committee for every booth. Build booth camps. You will wait with bamboo sticks for those who will come to loot votes. Tell them politely to leave unless they will be taken away in Khatias.”
