Dilip Ghosh threatens to kill TMC workers' kin

The BJP Midnapore MP ordered them rather to take revenge against the Trinamul and even the police through violence.

Kolkata: Triggering controversy, state BJP president Dilip Ghosh has declared that the Trinamul Congress workers’ families would be wiped out if he would start killing them. He also instructed BJP workers to not come to him complaining of attacks by the Trinamul. The BJP Midnapore MP ordered them rather to take revenge against the Trinamul and even the police through violence.

“The police is only slapping cases. Such politics can not continue in West Bengal. Till few days ago, people did not use to believe that the BJP would not win here. But, the BJP proved it wrong by fighting. There are 28,000 cases pending against our party workers. We are fighting them. There are so many cases starting from murder to rape to drugs,” Mr Ghosh alleged at a party rally in Mecheda of East Midnapore on Monday evening.

He claimed, “I also have a case of murder on me. The day I will start killing, your family will be wiped out. I am yet to start killing. Already 18 seats have been won. 10,000 cases were slapped on our workers, so that we would be out of the Panchayat Election. Nearly 1,000 went to jail. Out of them, 400 are behind bars still. If you want to live happily with your family, survive with your earnings.”

Referring to the Trinamul rank and file, the state BJP chief added, “Don’t come after us. We will destroy your life. Either you have to go to jail or you would not be able to see the faces of your son and wife. Your wife will die suffering from diabetes. And you would not be able to perform her last rites. I do what I say. I do not spare anyone. I am the son of the soil of Jangalmahal and Midnapore.”

Continuing his provoking speech, he told the BJP workers, “Those who still fail to understand will find their skin becoming thin. I will extract Ghee out of their body. I will not spare anyone, be it Trinamul workers or police personnel. If you do not thrash them, you are not BJP workers. Beat whoever he is a Trinamul worker or a cop. That is my responsibility.”

Sticking to his threats, the BJP MP said on Wednesday, “The Communists have no place in Bengal. We feel that violence has to be ended through violence when it does not stop, otherwise we would cease to exist. That is why I have told our party workers, do not come to me crying that you have been beaten up. Come only after taking revenge. We were silent so far by protesting and seeking justice only. Now, we will start taking revenge.”

Mr Ghosh noted, “If our rivals do not change their behaviour, our behaviour will also change.” Later, a suo moto case has been initiated at the Kolaghat police station against him over his theats and instigation. Mr Ghosh, however, said, “The Trinamul can not do anything beyond slapping cases using the police.”
